This series is imbued with a powerful sense of nature—specifically, nature seen through female eyes: the nest is perceived as a secluded, protected and warm spot, the preservation of life itself.

This series marked a watershed in the creative output of Suzy Lescano who currently works just with metal (bronze and iron) and wood; in her work she brings to bear her vivid imagination and treatment of materials in the service of a sculptor’s inspiration that now seems to be entirely revitalized.

In fact, the three-dimensional quality achieves its effect through transparency, lightness of touch, grace, and flexibility of the individual components, as the case may be.
